Paris Saint-Germain Defeats Marseille via Spot-Kicks to Claim French Super Cup in Kuwait.

PSG players celebrating

PSG has now secured the prestigious cup on fourteen separate times.

The Parisian giants needed a stoppage-time leveler followed by a perfect penalty shootout to overcome Marseille in Kuwait and secure a fourth straight French Super Cup victory.

The European champions appeared to be coasting towards a straightforward win in the showdown featuring the Ligue 1 champions and the Coupe de France holders after the French winger opened the scoring in the opening stages.

Yet, the southern French side fired two times late to take a shock advantage. Initially, Mason Greenwood scored from the penalty spot, before Willian Pacho inadvertently directed the ball into his own net for an own goal.

In a remarkable turn of events, Goncalo Ramos grabbed a vital leveler in the dying moments to send the match into a penalty shootout. PSG goalkeeper Chevalier then emerged as the hero, stopping crucial attempts from O'Riley and Hamed Traore.

In the shootout, Ramos, Vitinha, Nuno Mendes, and Desire Doue all converted with composure for PSG to seal a 4-1 penalty victory.

The record winners Paris Saint-Germain, who met last season's Ligue 1 runners-up Olympique de Marseille after completing a domestic double, have now lifted this trophy for the 12th time in the last 13 seasons.
